New Zealand Consulate-General Noumea, New Caledonia

Congratulations to the 2013 STTA Scholarship recipients

Study award recipients from New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna are congratulated by Consul-General Linda Te Puni and consulate staff in the presence of the president of the alumni association and a former scholarship student.

Eleven students form the French Pacific Territories – three from French Polynesia, six from New Caledonia and two from Wallis & Futuna have received Short Term Training Awards (STTA) to study in New Zealand for up to a year.

The students, who will undertake several weeks of English language training ahead of their main courses of study, are dispersed across a range of tertiary institutions from Whangarei to Timaru and will be hosted in homestays, giving them a first-hand “kiwi” experience in a full English language immersion environment.  Their courses equally are spread across a wide range of disciplines that includes tourism, business and graphic design.

Each student will be pursuing a course tailored to the individual professional projects they wish to pursue on return to their respective countries.

We wish all of our scholarship students the best of luck.
