Indonesia : Volcanic Eruption/Disruption to Flights

Mount Raung, located in East Java, erupted on Sunday 28 June 2015, causing ash to land in villages up to 10 kilometers away from the volcano.  Local authorities have increased the alert level for Mount Raung to high alert and are advising local residents and climbers not to approach areas within 3 kilometers of the crater.  New Zealanders are advised to exercise caution, check news reports and follow local advice before travelling to areas within Indonesia that are prone to volcanic activity.

Ambassador hosts head of Korea International Trade Association

Ambassador Patrick Rata was delighted to host Dr Han Duck-Soo, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association (and former Prime Minister of Korea) to dinner on Wednesday 29 May.  It was an occasion for Ambassador Rata to learn about current priorities of KITA and for general discussion on the New Zealand–Korea trade and economic relationship.
