Arrested New Zealanders

If a New Zealander is arrested in Vanuatu the New Zealand High Commission in Port Vila can provide some assistance (contact details below), but there are limitations to do what we can do.

What the Embassy does

The focus of the Embassy's work is managing New Zealand's political, economic and trade relations with Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar. The New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand is also accredited to Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar.

The Embassy provides consular assistance to resident and visiting New Zealanders, including emergency assistance and advice in the case of arrests, hospitalisation or if passports are lost/stolen.
