What the Embassy does

The focus of the Embassy's work is managing New Zealand's political, economic and trade relations with Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar. The New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand is also accredited to Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar.

The Embassy provides consular assistance to resident and visiting New Zealanders, including emergency assistance and advice in the case of arrests, hospitalisation or if passports are lost/stolen.

Parliament and Governor-General

The Parliament website has information about New Zealand's house of representatives.  The Governor-General is the personal representative of New Zealand's head of state, Queen Elizabeth II.

Embassy reading corner

The Embassy has a reading corner in the reception lobby containing a modest selection of books on various subjects, in both English and Japanese. A small selection of New Zealand magazines is also available.  No loan service is available.

The reading corner is available for use during Embassy opening hours.
