Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully today announced New Zealand will provide a further $2.975 million [approximately105 million pesos] to help those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, taking New Zealand’s total contribution to more than $5m [approximately 175 million pesos].
The ballot for passes for the 100th anniversary commemorations of Anzac Day at Gallipoli, Turkey, in 2015 is now open.
Typhoon Haiyan (known locally as typhoon Yolanda) struck the Philippines on 8 November 2013. The provinces of Samar and Leyte were particularly badly damaged by the typhoon, and there is a shortage of essential services and supplies in these areas.
