New Zealand Embassy Manila, The Philippines

Renewal of passports

The Department of Internal Affairs provides information on passports including changes to the issue of New Zealand passports and machine readable passports.

Safe Travel has information about New Zealand Passports including renewing a New Zealand Passport while overseas.

On 1 October 2010 new New Zealand passport forms were introduced.  There is now an 'adult form' for those applying for an adult passport for the first time, an 'adult renewal form' for those renewing their adult passport, and a new 'child's form' for those under the age of 16 applying for a new passport or a renewal.

One of the most significant changes affecting New Zealanders in the Philippines is that there is no longer a requirement for the applicant to send their old/current passport when applying to renew their passport.

Passport applications can be sent by the applicant directly to DIA in Wellington or Syndey by mail or courier.

The Embassy is still offering the service of sending passport applications to DIA in Wellington via the Diplomatic bag, please click here for fee information.
