All Rugby World Cup games to be aired live in the Philippines
Good news for All Blacks fans in the Philippines — you’ll be able to watch your favourite team play in the Rugby World Cup live on ESPN Star Sports
Rugby World Cup Limited has announced that ESPN Star Sports had been appointed as broadcast rights holder for Asia for rugby’s premier event. Under the deal, ESPN Star Sports will broadcast all 48 matches live from New Zealand across 13 territories in Asia, including the Philippines.
ESPN Star Sports managing director Manu Sawhney reportedly said he was “delighted to bring the world’s third largest sporting event in the world to rugby fans across Asia”.
The Rugby World Cup will kick off on 9 September with the All Blacks playing against Tonga at Eden Park in Auckland.The Philippines New Zealand Business Council will be hosting an event at the New Zealand official residence in Manila for the opening ceremony and first game, and the Australian New Zealand Chamber of Commerce will host an event at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Makati for the final on 23 October.
