Embassy urges New Zealanders to register

Monday, 28/9/09

Embassy urges New Zealanders to register. The recent tropical storm "Ketsana" is a reminder to all New Zealand visitors to the Philippines to register their details.
The Embassy is keen to encourage more New Zealanders to register their presence in the Philippines on www.register.safetravel.govt.nz

The purpose of the register is to help the Embassy contact people in the event of an emergency, whether it is a natural disaster, civil disturbance or for a family emergency. It will also help us to pass on information that we wish to alert New Zealand citizens about.

Registration is voluntary, and personal information provided will be held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and its overseas posts for consular purposes only and in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993. Email addresses and other personal information will not be sold or passed to third parties. Email addresses will not be used for any other purpose and will not be added to a mailing list unless that is consular puposes.

If you prefer, a registration form can be sent to you. Just contact the Embassy on phone 02 8915358 ext 204 or call and visit the Embassy at Level 23, BPI Buendia Centre, Sen Gil Puyat Avenue (close the corner of Sen Gil Puyat and Makati Avenues and next door to the Pacific Star Building), Makati City.
