Filipinos get to “Experience New Zealand”

More than 200 Filipinos got a taste of the very best New Zealand has to offer, at the “Experience New Zealand” gala night in Manila.

The gala evening at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza was the highlight of a week of New Zealand events in Manila. The event featured the Polynesian-influenced singing talents of Toni Huata and Karl Teariki, as well as fresh New Zealand food and fine New Zealand wines.

Tourism New Zealand gave the invited guests a sneak peek at what New Zealand has to offer. Giant video screens showed New Zealand’s pristine mountain ranges, world-class golf courses, active geothermal areas and Maori cultural performances.

Guests mingled with Philippine travel agents who specialise in packages to New Zealand and New Zealand inbound tour operators who had travelled to Manila especially for the occasion.

Immigration New Zealand was on hand to give advice about out how easy it is to get a visitor visa — many people present were pleasantly surprised to learn that visitor visas are issued free of charge.
