International organisations say doing business in New Zealand is easy
The New Zealand economy has been ranked third easiest to do business in by the International Finance Corporation and the World Bank in their “Doing Business 2011” report.
The report ranked 183 economies based on the time and costs required to meet government requirements. The index provides an indication of how conducive the regulatory environment in each economy is to the operation of business.
Each economy’s overall ranking was determined by averaging its performance in nine areas, including starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and closing a business.
New Zealand ranked first in the categories of starting a business and protecting investors.
