The Asia: New Zealand Foundation has released a study showing that New Zealanders predominantly recognise the importance of Asia to their country’s future, and are positive about the contribution that Asian people make in New Zealand.

The New Zealand and Australian embassies will again jointly host the Anzac Day commemoration in Manila.  This will be held on Monday 25 April at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Libingan ng mga Bayani) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Manila, starting at 5:30 am.

Christchurch, New Zealand's second-largest city, was hit by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake on Tuesday 22 February.  The quake caused severe damage and tragic casualties.
