New Zealand Embassy Warsaw, Poland

Action project - Diplomacy

Participants of the diplomatic action project

The Scientific Society of Foreign Affairs by the Jean Monnet European Integration Faculty at the Warsaw School of Economics visited the New Zealand Embassy on 18 April as part of this year's Diplomatic Action project.

Invited by Ambassador Designate Ms Wendy Hinton, the students participated in a lecture about New Zealand trade diplomacy given by Mr Charles Finny (a former diplomat, New Zealand Ambassador and CEO of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce).

The students asked about trade relations between New Zealand and Australia, New Zealand’s immigration policy and economic relations between NZ and Poland.

After the lecture, over coffee and cake, the participants talked about increasing participation in student exchange programmes between our countries and about the Working Holiday Scheme (WHS).

Charles Finny encouraged studying in New Zealand, as well as participating in specialist language courses in New Zealand, for example for medical and legal professionals.
