Minister Steve Joyce – Krakow

Hon Steven Joyce, New Zealand Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, Minister of Science and Innovation and Minister for Economic Development visited Krakow on 17 and 18 June 2013, accompanied by a delegation of officials from MBIE and Education New Zealand.

The main goal of the visit was to gain knowledge about the Polish education system in order to facilitate more linkages and exchanges between the top Polish and New Zealand higher education institutions, with an additional focus on opportunities for sharing science and innovation experience.   The Minister attended a function hosted by the Ambassador and met with the representatives of  Jagiellonian University, Krakow Technical University and a number of other regional higher education institutions.  He also met with local government officials and representatives of the Australia New Zealand Oceania Research Association. The visit generated considerable interest in forging stronger relationship with New Zealand tertiary institutions in terms of student exchanges and knowledge sharing .
