Rugby World Cup 2011 celebrated in Warsaw

Charge D'Affairs Nik Kiddle welcomes guests to Warsaw's RWC 2011 celebration.

The New Zealand Embassy in Warsaw joined millions of fans celebrating the Rugby World Cup on 9 September.

The Embassy opened its doors to guests who came from all over Poland. Around 60 locals, including resident New Zealanders, gathered to watch the opening match and enjoy a taste of New Zealand hospitality.

Prominent guests included representatives from ministries of government, research institutes, the diplomatic corps, Polish rugby associations, and former players and the media.

The event gave the Embassy a splendid opportunity to strengthen ties and to showcase New Zealand at a significant moment. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ on the terrace!
