Two Oceans in Krakow

A reading of New Zealand’s Anthology of Modern Plays “Two Oceans” was held in Krakow’s Bagatela Theater at Sarego Street on 27 March. The event was directed by Ms Katarzyna Deszcz.

“Two Oceans” is the first collective presentation of New Zealand drama published in Poland by ADiT under the patronage of TR Warsaw and the New Zealand Embassy in Warsaw.

The Anthology is composed of dramas written by New Zealand’s finest authors: Michelanne Forster “Daughters of Heaven”, Toa Fraser “Bare”, Greg McGee “Foreskin’s Lament”, Vivienne Plumb “The Cape” and Tom Scott “The Daylight Atheist”.

Kamila Klimczak, Justyna Schneider, Przemysław Branny, Sławomir Maciejewski, Sebastian Oberc, Piotr Urbaniak and Marcel Wiercichowski performed the reading of excerpts from the Anthology. The presentation was followed by a discussion with Adam Wiedemann, a poet and the author of the preface, interpreter Wioletta Perzanowska and Joanna Jopek, a theatre critic and the author of the afterword. The event was hosted by Kamila Paprocka and was coloured by tasting of New Zealand specialty dishes.
