Prominent Polish MP Robert Biedron’s Christmas break this year included a visit to New Zealand.


Thanks to the efforts of the Institute of Urban Culture in Gdansk, the fifth edition of the Festival - "Narratives - installations and interventions in public space" took place on 15 - 17 November 2013.


"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" has been a major success in Poland. The second part of Peter Jackson's trilogy earned more than 13 million PLN during the first weekend in theaters in Poland.


Online Polish Educational Portal INTERKLASA.PL, to promote the second part of Peter Jackson's film trilogy titled "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug", organized a competition for students entitled: The Hobbit Quest.


Prof Andrzej Koss and Dr Lukasz Bednarz, renowned Polish experts in conservation of historic sites, visited New Zealand between November and December 2013.


To mark the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Poland,  the New Zealand Ambassador Wendy Hinton hosted a concert featuring music and musicians from both countries on 15  September at the Polish Music Publishing House in Warsaw.


Adding to the New Zealand music fest enjoyed by Polish music lovers in September, the New Zealand Ambassador Wendy Hinton hosted a concert featuring the distinguished New Zealand contemporary music group, the NZTrio.


Ambassador Wendy Hinton visited the City of Płock on 29 August. She met with the Mayor of Płock,  Mr Andrzej Nowakowski, and took part in a “New Zealand Family Picnic”  event to mark the culmination of the programme of New Zealand studies undertaken by city children .


The "Warsaw Cross Culture Festival", which took place between 25-29 September at the Parade Square in Warsaw, was celebrating its 9th anniversary. For this year's festival, the organisers chose the covering theme "Islands of the World" and hosted 170 artists from 54 countries.


The New Zealand Embassy in Poland, with the support of the New Zealand Ministry of Culture and Heritage and in cooperation with the Warsaw Autumn 2013 Festival and Krakow Musical Academy, invites you to experience New Zealand contemporary music performed by the internationally - acclaimed NZTrio. The concerts will be held on 27 September in Warsaw and 28 September in Kraków and will be free to the public.
