New Zealand wins silver in Sochi

Corey Peters in the Men's Super Combined Sitting race at Rosa Khutor Alpine Center, Sochi

New Plymouth sit-skier Corey Peters won a silver medal in the giant slalom discipline on the second to last day of the Paralympic Games in Sochi.

Peters’ silver becomes the sixth silver medal (out of a total 28 medals) that the New Zealand team has won during the last 10 Paralympic Games.

The three New Zealand athletes at the Winter Paralympics in Sochi performed very well; the staff at the New Zealand Embassy in Moscow were proud to support them and the other New Zealand Olympians who competed in Sochi.
