Registration of New Zealanders overseas
With the cyclone season now upon us, we encourage all New Zealand citizens in Samoa and American Samoa to register online at the Safetravel website.
To register on the Safetravel website follow this link.
You may also call us on phone 685 21711 for a registration form or collect one from our office on Beach Road, 1st floor.
Why is Registering important?
This allows us to contact you if there is an unforeseen crisis, or if you have a family emergency, while you are overseas. If you have registered already but not provided your email address, please so now and also check that the contact details you have given are still correct – if not, update them now.
Where we have needed to contact New Zealanders who are thought to be in an area affected by a cyclone, major earthquake or tsunami – those who have registered their travel contact details have usually been accounted for first.
Remember, if you haven’t registered with us, we don’t know where you are, so register now.
Who uses my information?
The information is used to try and contact registrants in an emergency (e.g. natural disaster, terrorism, civil disturbance, family emergency etc.)
Note: Registration information is kept confidential, and is only used for the consular purposes for which it is collected. Email addresses and personal information will not be sold or passed to third parties. The information provided is protected by the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993.
