Student visas

Immigration New Zealand has information about how to apply for a student visa.

Staying up to three months

GCC citizens do not need a visa to travel to New Zealand for visits up to three months (twelve weeks).

Applicants are required to:

  • Hold a valid return or outward ticket to a country at the conclusion of the three month stay;
  • Be able to show that the applicant has sufficient money for the duration of the stay (NZ$1,000 per month);
  • Hold a passport valid for three months beyond the date of departure from New Zealand; and
  • Stay only for the period of time granted upon arrival.

Staying longer than three months

A student visa application must be made for stays longer than three months. Please check the requirements set out in the Can I study in New Zealand? section of the Immigration New Zealand website. Application forms and a guide for studying in New Zealand can be downloaded from the website of the New Zealand Immigration Service - Study Forms and Guides. Additional Information and check lists are available on the Dubai sub-branch Office website.

Applicants from the Gulf States should send their completed application form to the New Zealand Immigration Service office in Dubai.
