A magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred near the city of Christchurch in Canterbury, New Zealand, on 22 February 2011.

The New Zealand Embassy in Riyadh wishes to advise that a condolence book has been opened in memory of those who lost their lives in the Pike River Coal Mine tragedy.

The book will be open to sign at the New Zealand Embassy reception, Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh, from Sunday 28 November until Tuesday 7 December 2010 between the hours of 0900 - 1200 and 1230 - 1500, daily.

A reception was held in Bahrain on the occasion of the 2010 FIFA World Cup play off match between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the New Zealand All Whites football teams.

The New Zealand Ambassador, accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the New Zealand Trade Commissioner, hosted a reception in Bahrain on Sunday 11 October 2009.

The occasion was the first 2010 FIFA World Cup play off match between the Kingdom of Bahrain football team and the New Zealand All Whites football team on Saturday 10 October 2009.
