Legal Problems and Lawyers' List

When a traveller enters a foreign state, he or she becomes subject to its laws and is legally accountable for acts committed in its territory. If a New Zealand citizen encounters legal problems, the High Commission will seek to ensure that the person receives the benefit of the same laws, administration, protection and means for redress for injuries that the state affords its own citizens.

The High Commission cannot seek special treatment for New Zealand citizens that come to the attention of the Singapore authorities.
