A Condolence Book for All Black rugby legend Jonah Lomu will be open from 11:00am – 1:00pm and from 2:00 – 4:00pm on Thursday 26, Friday 27, Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December.  Members of the public are invited to sign the book at the New Zealand High Commission, One George Street #21-04, Singapore 049145.


Just because you are out of the country doesn’t mean you have to miss out on having your say in two binding referendums on the future of the New Zealand flag. 


Smoke haze from forest fires in Indonesia periodically causes very high pollution readings in parts of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.  Since August this year, the level of particulate air pollution has reached very hazardous levels in certain parts of these countries.  The hazard level varies by location although its effects have been particularly strong this year in the Riau Islands, Sumatra and Kalimantan (all Indonesia). 


The New Zealand High Commission in Singapore will be closed on Friday 11 September for the Singapore National General Election.  The High Commission will re-open at 9.00am on Monday 14 September 2015.


The annual electrical shutdown in our office building at One George Street, Singapore will be carried out from 8am until 5pm on Saturday 15 August. During this period the electricity supply to our office will be shut down.

Please note that our phone system will be shut down from 4:30pm on Friday 14 August until the electricity supply resumes.

On Saturday 25th April 2015, the Australian and New Zealand communities in Singapore will join others around the world commemorating the 100th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli.


The Singapore Visa Application Centre (VAC) will be closed to the public on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March to facilitate the relocation of the VAC to its new location. Normal operations will commence on Monday 9th March at the new location.

Foreign Minister Murray McCully today welcomed New Zealand taking up its seat as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

“New Zealand’s term on the Security Council will place us at the heart of international decision-making for the next two years,” Mr McCully says.

“The Security Council is currently considering some of the most pressing issues the international community faces, including; the dire humanitarian situation in Syria, ISIL, and Ebola.
