Christchurch Earthquake Appeal

New Zealand Prime Minister Rt Hon John Key has announced the launch of the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

The Appeal is an official global fundraiser for the recovery effort in Christchurch and the Canterbury region. It has been launched by the Government to reach as many people as possible globally who wish to help and support Christchurch . The Appeal is for donations from both private and Governmental sources.

Access to the Appeal is through and making an online credit card donation.

Westpac New Zealand will manage the Appeal on behalf of the Government. Westpac will also be integrating and promoting the Appeal as part of Westpac's Online Banking service. People who hold a current New Zealand bank account, which is not a Westpac account, can use internet banking to make a donation to Westpac account 03-0251-0039807-00.

Facebook users will also be able to access the appeal at where there is a video of the Prime Minister launching the Appeal, and further information.

The Appeal is designed to complement those funds already established within New Zealand , the relevant details of which are as follows:
