Christchurch Earthquake: Information and Enquiries
Following the Christchurch earthquake on 22 February the New Zealand High Commission (NZHC) in Honiara has received many messages of sympathy and support from Solomon Islanders. NZHC Honiara has also received enquiries from people concerned about the wellbeing of family and friends in the Christchurch area.
NZHC Honiara advises anyone in Solomon Islands with concerns about family or friends to first try to make direct contact by phone, email or other means. Please note that communication systems in the Christchurch area have been affected by the earthquake and it may be difficult to get through. An international enquiry line is available by phoning +64 7 850 2199.
