Short Term Training Awards

Applications for Short Term Training Awards are now open.

Up to five Short Term Training Awards are available for Solomon Islands citizens to undertake study or workplace attachments of up to 1 year in New Zealand or the region in 2014.

Short Term Training Awards are for employed Solomon Islanders to gain further industry knowledge and skills that will help develop Solomon Islands.

Short Term Training Awards cover tuition fees, return economy air fares, an establishement grant, a basic living allowance and provision for health care.

Short Term Training Awards will be prioritized in areas that promote economic growth  in Solomon Islands, including:

  • Fisheries and Maritime
  • Transportation & Infrastructure
  • Business Management, Commerce and Economics
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Tourism
  • Education

All applications must be submitted to the New Zealand High Commission by 31 October 2013.
