Visas for Spain

New Zealand citizens are not required to obtain a visa to travel to Spain. As visitors, they may remain in the country for a maximum of 3 months regardless of the amount of time spent in any of the other Schengen states.

The New Zealand Embassy in Madrid is not responsible for issuing work or residence permits for New Zealanders wishing to work or reside in Spain.

If you are currently in Spain, all questions relating to your visa status should be directed to the nearest office of the Policia Nacional (Oficina de Extranjeros/Extranjería).

If you plan to visit Spain for more than three months, or work or study in Spain, you should contact the nearest Spanish Consulate or Embassy. If you are resident in New Zealand this is:
