New Zealand Permanent Mission Geneva, Switzerland

30th Anniversary of the Kiwi Club in Switzerland

The 30th Anniversary of the Kiwi Club in Switzerland was held in Zurich, on Saturday the 7 September 2013. This special event, organised by Craig, the club president and committee, with Roland and Dan in charge of the hangi, celebrates the formation of the New Zealand Association of Switzerland in 1983.

It was attended by over 100 Kiwis, living in Switzerland, including New Zealand’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Amanda Ellis, her husband Keric Chin and their son Mitchell. Although Ambassador Ellis was to lose the sack race, she didn't come last, so the honour of the New Zealand Mission was intact.

“The New Zealand Association of Switzerland aims to bring together New Zealanders living in all parts of Switzerland. We provide information of interest to New Zealanders through the club newsletter and this website. Social activities such as hiking and skiing weekends, bowling, picnics and pot luck dinners are organised by the committee on a regular basis. There’s a Christmas party and of course an Annual General Meeting once a year. We also seek to help newcomers with contact and information about living in Switzerland”
