New Zealand Prime Minister John Key welcomes 'Aloma Johansson
‘Aloma Johansson, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, has returned from a week as New Zealand Prime Minister’s Fellow 2014. Whilst in Wellington, Ms Johansson met New Zealand’s Prime Minister, John Key, in the Beehive. They discussed PM Key’s upcoming visit to Tonga, 3 - 5 June.
“Ms Johansson is the latest of a series of eminent leaders from Tonga to be awarded the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Fellow”, said NZ High Commissioner, Mark Talbot. “My Prime Minister chose to recognise one of Tonga’s leading business figures for the first time this year. I am delighted ‘Aloma took the opportunity of her visit to explore avenues for enhanced economic growth in Tonga.”
During Ms Johansson’s visit to New Zealand, she met with New Zealand Government agencies, businesses, think tanks and the NZ Red Cross. She also gave a well-received speech to the Tonga-NZ Business Council’s Annual General Meeting.
The New Zealand Prime Minister’s Fellow is awarded to one emerging or current leader in Tonga each year. Its purpose is to enhance leadership links and understanding between our two countries.
