The New Zealand Embassy in Ankara is seeking applications for three positions as follows:

Policy and Public Diplomacy Adviser

We are looking for an experienced and highly competent Policy and Public Diplomacy Adviser for our team, who has strong communication and planning skills and is able to assist us with the design and implementation of a high-profile and dynamic public diplomacy programme.  Our successful applicant will also assist with preparations for the Anzac component of the centenary commemorations of the Canakkale Battles in 2015, and will therefore be well-organised, adaptable,  resilient and a strong team player.  A high-level of fluency in English and Turkish is essential, and previous experience in media liaison would be an advantage.

This is a fixed term contract for six months.

Defence Attaché Support Officer

Our Defence Attaché requires a self-motivated Support Officer who has excellent organizational skills and proven  experience in all facets of office administration including executive assistance.  Applicants must be fluent in English and Turkish (spoken and written) and able to do simultaneous translation and  accurate interpretation at official meetings and functions.  The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.

An understanding of the military rank structure would be an advantage.

Consular Advisor/Team Administrator

We are seeking a competent and practical Consular Adviser/Team Administrator, who has a sound administrative background, is attentive to detail, and who is able to deal with challenging situations in a responsive, judicious and empathetic manner.  Applicants must be fluent in English and Turkish (spoken and written).  A strong understanding of the support and emergencies services available in the local environment would be an advantage.  Previous experience in a consular role or contingency planning would be a highly desirable.
