Due to the seasonal increase in visa applications during December - January, Immigration New Zealand recommends that for any planned travel to New Zealand before 18 January,  visa applications be submitted online and before 05 December 2015.


Just because you are out of the country doesn’t mean you have to miss out on having your say in two binding referendums on the future of the New Zealand flag. 


Between 14 and 16 November, the G20 Leaders' Summit and related events will be held in Belek, Antalya.  This conference will involve the visit of a large number of attendees and VIPs.  Belek will be inaccessible to members of the public from 11-17 November.  There may be significant disruption to transport in and around Antalya during this period.  Heightened security arrangements will also be in place, which may contribute to travel delays.


A service to commemorate the centenary of the Battle for Chunuk Bair will be held on the Gallipoli Peninsula on 8 August 2015. The hour long service will be held in the vicinity of the New Zealand memorial at Chunuk Bair and will commence at 5pm. The service will be not be balloted like this year’s Anzac Day commemorations, but those planning to attend are requested to register their interest. There are seats available for 1000 people and some seats will be reserved for attendees who require mobility assistance.


New Zealand is proud to partner with the African Union Commission to produce the African Union Handbook 2015. In a significant development, this edition has been published in both English and French.


Foreign Minister Murray McCully today welcomed New Zealand taking up its seat as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

“New Zealand’s term on the Security Council will place us at the heart of international decision-making for the next two years,” Mr McCully says.

“The Security Council is currently considering some of the most pressing issues the international community faces, including; the dire humanitarian situation in Syria, ISIL, and Ebola.


New Zealand has secured a place on the United Nations Security Council for 2015-16.

The New Zealand Embassy has become aware that foreigners (including New Zealanders) residing in Turkey with a Residence Permit may be required to make compulsory healthcare insurance payments. We understand that those foreigners affected by this requirement will need to register with the Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK) by 31 January 2012. We encourage all New Zealand citizens living in or visiting Turkey, Jordan or Israel to register online with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade through while travelling or residing overseas.

This will enable the Ministry or the local embassy or high commission to contact you in an emergency.
