Internal Affairs Minister Chris Tremain has announced that from Friday 2 November New Zealanders will pay less for their adult passport and be able to renew their passports online.

The New Zealand Embassy has become aware that foreigners (including New Zealanders) residing in Turkey with a Residence Permit may be required to make compulsory healthcare insurance payments. We understand that those foreigners affected by this requirement will need to register with the Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK) by 31 January 2012. If you are living or working in Turkey, Jordan or Israel are you registered?
We encourage all New Zealand citizens living in or visiting Turkey, Jordan or Israel to register online with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade through www.safetravel.govt.nz while travelling or residing overseas.

This will enable the Ministry or the local embassy or high commission to contact you in an emergency.
