New Zealand Defence Staff

The New Zealand Defence Staff in London represent the interests of the New Zealand Defence Force and the New Zealand Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom. The office comprises of five officers from the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Army and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, along with a number of local staff. Together they maintain relations with the British Forces and United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence and provide administrative support to combined defence force activities, such as visits and training. Contact with the defence industry is also maintained and the staff in London undertake procurement on behalf of the New Zealand Defence Force.

The Head of the New Zealand Defence Staff in London is also accredited to France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Ireland. The office also acts as New Zealand’s liaison with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
