2014 Anzac Day services in London and around the UK
2014 marks 100 years since the outbreak of WWI, and the 99th anniversary since the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli. Please read the following about changes to the services being held in London and around the UK.
On Friday 25 April 2014, the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions will hold three joint commemorative ceremonies in London – a Dawn Service, a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph and a service at Westminster Abbey.
In preparation for Anzac Day 2015, there will be some changes to the Dawn Service this year.
Most notably the service will be held in front of Wellington Arch (still at Hyde Park Corner) rather than at the Australian War Memorial or the New Zealand Memorial.
A service in front of Wellington Arch will allow for a greater number of New Zealanders and Australians to attend, as well as emphasising the joint nature of the commemoration. There will still be an opportunity after the service for members of the public to lay wreaths at each memorial.
Tickets will not be required to attend the Dawn Service.
However, this year tickets will be required to attend the wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph and the Westminster Abbey service.
Further information about all three London services can be found on this website at this link.
Details about regional Anzac services will be added to this website as we receive the information, and can be found at this link.
