Donate to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal
On 22 February 2011, Christchurch and the surrounding area were struck by an earthquake that caused severe damage and tragic casualties.
The New Zealand Government has launched an appeal to help the people of Christchurch and the Canterbury region during this time of great need. You can help make a difference by donating to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
The Christchurch Earthquake Appeal is a Charitable Trust held with the Charities Aid Foundation. CAF is a charity established under English law and is registered at the Charity Commission under charity registration number 268369.
Residents in the United Kingdom can make txt donations of £3 and £5 to the following numbers:
- £3 - txt earthquake to 70303
- £5 - txt earthquake to 70500
- Txt donations made to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal can only be made with the bill payer's permission. The basis of the system on which txt donations are made is subject to the rates used for mobile competitions, voting, chat and ring-tone services. This means that for £3 donations, £2.67 goes direct to the charity. For £5 donations, £4.45 goes direct to the charity.
