New Zealand High Commission London, United Kingdom

London ANZAC Day services 2010

Two of the three main Anzac Day services held in London on 25 April, will take place earlier this year than previous years’ commemorations.

The change in time has been agreed by both the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions, to ensure there will be little disruption to the service by the London Marathon, which is taking place on the same day.

The times are as follows:
• The Dawn Ceremony at Hyde Park Corner will remain unchanged, beginning at 0500.
• The wreath laying at the Cenotaph on Whitehall will now commence at 0800 (instead of 1100)
• The Service of Commemoration at Westminster Abbey will now commence at 0900 (instead of noon).

New Zealand High Commissioner Derek Leask, and Australian High Commissioner John Dauth, encourage all those wishing to pay their respects to join them for these commemorations on Sunday 25 April 2010.

As in previous years, tickets are not required for the Dawn Ceremony or to observe the wreath laying at the Cenotaph.

Tickets are required to participate in the wreath laying at the Cenotaph and to attend the Westminster Abbey Service. All tickets to the Westminster Abbey Service have now been allocated.
