The High Commission would like to thank the thousands of New Zealanders who attended and participated in the various commemorative services in London on 25 April 2013 and indeed, throughout the United Kingdom.  We look forward to seeing you all again in 2014.

Royal Ascot takes place this year from 18 to 22 June 2013.  The High Commission runs a ballot for New Zealand nationals to obtain tickets to the Royal Enclosure.  Applications for these tickets opened on Monday 22 April at 9.00am (UK time) and closed on Friday 26 April at 9.00am (UK time). 


Applications have now closed for tickets to participate in the wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, and to attend the Westminster Abbey Service.  But you can still view the Dawn Service and Centotaph ceremony.  


New Zealanders who served on the Arctic convoys or with Bomber Command during World War Two may now be eligible for two new awards - the Arctic Star and Bomber Command clasp.


Applications for tickets for the Queen’s Birthday Parades – Trooping the Colour, and the Colonel’s Review – closed at 9.00am (UK time) on Wednesday 03 April.   


We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr the Rt Hon Lockwood Smith. Dr Smith and his wife Alexandra were officially welcomed to New Zealand House today with a powhiri.

On Monday 25th February 2013, the remains of an unidentified New Zealand soldier from the First World War will be reburied in Belgium. The reburial service is open to members of the public.  Individuals wishing to attend are asked to please contact the New Zealand Embassy in Brussels.
