Communications and Events Officer - New Zealand Embassy in Washington DC

Position

Are you a public affairs professional with events management experience looking for a new challenge in a busy Embassy?

The Embassy of New Zealand in Washington DC is seeking a highly organised, energetic and creative thinker with experience working for an Embassy or in Government in a communications role with events management experience.  

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in designing and implementing outreach and communications strategies;
  • Experience conceptualising and coordinating formal and informal functions and events;
  • Experience working for an Embassy or in Government;
  • High level of organisational skills and a “can-do” attitude;
  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms in a professional context;
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant experience with a proven work history in a reputable organisation is essential.

We are looking for the successful appointee to commence duties in late September 2015. ‚Äč This is a locally-engaged position with terms and conditions of employment set in accordance with local employment requirements.  No financial assistance with transferring to Washington DC is provided.
