Anzac Day 2014

Each year on the 25th of April, Australians and New Zealanders commemorate ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day to recognise the sacrifices that Australian and New Zealand servicemen and servicewomen have made not only in defending their country, but in upholding their nations’ longstanding commitment to peace and security. 
 
To mark this special occasion for 2014, the Australian and New Zealand Embassies are co-hosting a program of events. All events are open to the public. The events include:
 

Dawn Service - 25 April 2014

The traditional ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at the Korean Veterans War Memorial on the National Mall. 
 
When: Friday, 25 April 2014
Time: 5.45am - 6.15am (Arrive by 5.30am)
Where: Korean Veterans War Memorial

Military Dress: Service Dress or equivalent with medals
Civilian Dress: Business Attire
Parking: Ohio Drive
 

‘Gunfire’ Breakfast - 25 April 2014

At the conclusion of the Dawn Service a Gunfire Breakfast will be hosted by the Embassy of Australia.

Registration is required before the event. Capacity is very limited and the event fills up quickly. Registration closes Friday 11 April 2014 or when capacity is reached.
 
Parking in the vicinity of the Embassy will be very limited. It is strongly recommended that attendees make use of public transport (closest Metro Stations: Dupont Circle or Farragut West) or be dropped off by private vehicle. 
 

Commemorative Church Service - 25 April 2014

A Commemorative Church Service will be held at the Washington National Cathedral.

Time: 10.30am - 11.30am (Please be seated by 10.15am)
Where: Washington National Cathedral

Military Dress: Service Dress or equivalent with medals
Civilian Dress: Business Attire
Parking: Garage Parking is available at the Cathedral. Access is via Wisconsin Avenue. First hour - $6; second hour - $11.
