The body of the late Dick Eade, one of the first agents to send local Ni-Vanuatu employees to New Zealand under the Recognised Seasonal Employment (RSE) scheme, was laid to rest on Friday 6 January 2012 in the country which he himself called 'home'.

25 ready for studies under NZ's Regional Development Scholarships program

Twenty-five students from Vanuatu are about to start their studies at Pacific regional institutions in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa under the New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships (NZRDS) program for 2012.

As described in the Joint Commitment for Development signed between Vanuatu and New Zealand in October last year, the purpose of the scholarships programme is to increase economic development through a better trained workforce.

New Zealand supports Financial Literacy and Business Training in Vanuatu

Today the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) signed a Grant Funding Arrangement with the National Bank of Vanuatu (NBV) to support Financial Literacy and Business Training throughout rural Vanuatu.

MFAT has agreed  to provide up to $NZD 1.5 million in grant aid over three years (2012-2014) towards the delivery of Financial Literacy and Business Training which will be conducted in 27 locations throughout the NBV's rural network.
