First Secretary (Development)

Margie Lowe is the First Secretary, Development at the New Zealand Embassy in Ha Noi. She is responsible for managing the New Zealand Aid Programme to Viet Nam. 

Margie has worked in development for more years than she cares to remember but still finds it stimulating as she continues to learn new ways of approaching development issues.

Margie made frequent trips to Viet Nam when she worked for a New Zealand NGO, Volunteer Service Abroad as the Asia Programme Manager in the mid nineties. She previously worked for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in a number of roles including managing New Zealand's development programme in Samoa and as the Gender Adviser. She worked as a consultant before rejoining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade where she worked in the Pacific as a Roving Programme Manager and undertook relief assignments in both the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
