Obtaining a new/replacement visa

When a replacement ETD is issued, a new Vietnamese visa will have to be obtained in order to enable you to depart the country as any visas in the cancelled passport will have also been invalidated. Vietnamese Visa costs are separate and additional to any passport costs.

In Ha Noi, visas can be obtained at the:

This procedure is the same for those who need to transfer valid Vietnamese visas from an old passport into a new one (or if necessary, to change exit points for departing the country). Experience has shown that this process can take a minimum of 3 working days to complete.

In Ho Chi Minh City, you should report the loss of your passport to the Police. After you have been issued with a new passport you will need to arrange appropriate visa formalities at the:
