The Royal New Zealand Navy Ship, Her Majesty’s New Zealand Ship (HMNZS) TE MANA with a crew of 25 officers and 102 sailors is making a five-day goodwill visit to Viet Nam from 24 to 29 April 2013. It is the fifth New Zealand naval ship visit to Viet Nam - the last occurred in 2011.
During the ship’s visit, senior officers will pay courtesy calls on navy counterparts and the local People's Committee.

Minister of Defence and Member of the Communist Party Politburo, H.E. General Phung Quang Thanh, made history last week by becoming the first Defence Minister of Viet Nam to visit New Zealand.  Minister Thanh visited Wellington and Auckland as a Guest of Government during a five-day visit from 20-25 March.
