New Zealand’s “UN Handbook” turns 50

The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs has again published its annual United Nations Handbook this year, to coincide with the opening of the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.  A free online electronic version is available for the first time.

This year the Handbook reached a major milestone, with the publication of its 50th edition.

The Handbook is one of New Zealand’s many practical contributions to the work of the United Nations.  It is not intended to be a historical record of the organisation.  Rather, it provides full and accurate information on all aspects of the current UN system – still the only publication in the world to do so.

We hope that readers will find this year’s Handbook as useful as in the past.  Hard copies may be purchased through the New Zealand Embassy, at the cost of NZ$30.00.  This year for the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also produced an electronic version, which can be accessed free of charge here.
