New Zealand navy ship visits Viet Nam

HMNZS Te Mana visited Ho Chi Minh City 27 June - 1 July on a goodwill port visit as part of a wider Asian tour. The visit was the fourth naval ship visit to Viet Nam and the first since 2006. Te Mana's visit afforded the opportunity for navy/navy courtesy calls as well as a call on the HCMC People's committee by the Commanding Officer. Outreach activities undertaken in association with the visit included a visit to a girl's home in HCMC that has been supported by the New Zealand community for a number of years as well as sporting events. The ship was also opened to visitors.
