NZDS and Scholarship Project 322 awardees with H.E. Ms Heather Riddell, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, Margie Lowe, First Secretary, Development of the New Zealand Embassy, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vang, Director General, VIED and New Zealand Embassy’s staff.

On 21st January 2011, the New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi held a pre-departure briefing for NZDS awardees who were about to depart to undertake their post graduate study in New Zealand in early 2011. The briefing aims to provide the NZDS awardees with the information on their entitlements and obligations, accommodation, customs procedures, health insurance, arrival and living in New Zealand as well as the most recent changes of New Zealand immigration policy applied to the NZDS awardees.

This was followed by a farewell lunch hosted by H.E. Ms Heather Riddell, Ambassador and Ms Margie Lowe, First Secretary, Development, New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam. The Government funded scholarship (Project 322) awardees to New Zealand were also invited to the farewell lunch. This has enabled the networking and experience sharing between the students of the two schemes before their departure to New Zealand. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Vang, Director General, Vietnam International Education Development (VIED) and New Zealand Desk Officer of VIED also attended the farewell lunch.
