The New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi and Consulate General in HCMC announce the opening of a logo design competition to brand the ‘New Zealand – Open to the New’ season of events to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Viet Nam.


The New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Murray McCully, will visit Viet Nam from 25 - 27 March 2014. Minister McCully’s visit is further evidence of New Zealand’s commitment to strengthening the already excellent bilateral relationship with Viet Nam.One focus of the visit will be to explore opportunities for further expanding the relationship as the two countries celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations in 2015.


Hon Murray McCully, New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, today officially launched two new exciting initiatives designed to promote New Zealand in Viet Nam: a nationwide New Zealand tourism themed competition and the appointment of well-known Vietnamese personality, Ms Jennifer Pham, as the New Zealand Embassy’s Honorary Tourism Envoy in Viet Nam for 2014.


The Australian and New Zealand Embassies in Ha Noi will commemorate Anzac Day with a dawn service at the Australian Embassy. 


During his visit to Nghe An, Ambassador Manning will explore opportunities to enhance the trade, education, and disaster management links between New Zealand and the province.


(Hanoi, 28 May 2014) New Zealand Ambassador to Viet Nam Haike Manning and Director General Nguyen Xuan Hong from the Plant Protection Department of Viet Nam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development signed the Official Assurance Programme for the export of dragon fruits from Viet Nam to New Zealand. Vietnamese leaders from Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs also witnessed the signing ceremony.


New Zealand’s Minister of Economic Development and Minister of Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, Hon Steven Joyce, will visit Viet Nam from 18-20 March.
