New Zealand Embassy Ha Noi, Viet Nam


New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Murray McCully has completed a successful visit to Ha Noi on 6-8 November, his fourth visit to Viet Nam in three years.


The Embassy has entered the world of social media, with the launch this week of our new Facebook page. 


The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs has again published its annual United Nations Handbook this year, to coincide with the opening of the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.  A free online electronic version is available for the first time.


Teams from New Zealand and Viet Nam met in Wellington on 3-4 October for the latest bilateral Track II Dialogue – the fourth time the talks have been held.


The New Zealand Embassy in Ha Noi is seeking to recruit an Executive Assistant / Consular Adviser to provide personal assistant support to the Ambassador and other administration functions to the Embassy to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the office.  The position will also have some responsibility for management of consular advice and assistance to New Zealanders in Viet Nam.  Consular training will be provided to the successful applicant.


New Zealand’s new Ambassador and Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) co-hosted a reception on Friday 5 October, at the New Zealand Ambassador’s Residence.


Preliminary information is now available for stakeholders from TPP participating countries who might be considering attending Round 15 in Auckland, New Zealand, on 3-12 December 2012.  Keep watching TPP Talk for further information related to Round 15.


New Zealand’s Ambassador to Viet Nam 2009-2012, Ms Heather Riddell, has returned to New Zealand on the completion of her assignment.


Minister of Trade Hon Tim Groser has announced that New Zealand will host the next round of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade negotiations.  The talks will take place in Auckland on 3-12 December 2012.


New Zealand is contributing NZ$5 million to a disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation project in the southern province of Ben Tre, Vietnam.
