Passport fees

The following passport and Emergency Travel Document fees are effective from 1 July 2011.

Passport application sent to New Zealand (by applicant)

Machine-readable E-passport (Adult) NZ$153.30
Machine-readable E-passport (Child) NZ$81.70

Conditions Sent to New Zealand (direct) by applicant with fee or credit card details enclosed (NZ Embassy can not accept fee). Also add cost of return courier service. Current passport must be enclosed with application.
Allow approx 3 weeks for new passport to be received.

Passport application process at Embassy

Machine-readable E-passport (Adult) US$166 (=VND3,427,000)
Machine-readable E-passport (Child) US$107 (=VND2,220,000)

Conditions Includes $50 diplomatic bag fee. Application and fee submitted to NZ Embassy. Current passport may be retained (conditions apply) but need to be handed in for cancellation before new passport can be issued.
Allow approx 4 weeks for new passport to be received.

ETD

Machine-readable ETD (All types) US$285 (=VND5,900,000)

Conditions Application and fee submitted to NZ Embassy. Replacement ETD is produced at the Embassy within three days of correctly received application.
